Mood Gym - FREE help with depression and anxiety

Anonymous started this conversation

I found this great new site out of austrailia that can help with depression and anxiety. While it is NOT meant to replace your current therapist/therapy or medication, it a a great online tool that incorporates CBT (cognitive behavorial therapy) to assist in the treatment of depression and anxiety. There are tests and a workbook that can help you understand why you think and feel the way you do. Best of all, it is FREE.....

I, too, deal with anxiety disorder, so when I read about Mood Gym in the Readers Digest, I decided to check it out. I took the first series of tests, last week, then waited a week as they suggested to do, before going back to take the second set of tests. I have been trying for several days now to log into their website, but cannot. Is anyone else having this problem?

Also, I would like to share another link with all of you: http://www.watchtower.org/e/20040108/article_01.htm where there are all sorts of good articles dealing with understanding and coping with various types of mental health disorders. I've found the articles very helpful.

in response to kristen29...   Hi Kristine, I too suffer chronic depression and anxiety. I am on several meds which help a lot. I do not like the side effects though. I have all the same feelings you do and I will pray for you.
I have gone to counselors, drs. etc and they really aren't much help. The meds are but I am not sure the side effects are worth it. Maybe you can search the internet for some natural healers that could make a difference. I always plan to, but never feel like bothering. I have had this problem for more years than I can remember. I'm fed up with it and need to get some different kind of help. I am always tired. Try to think of happy thoughts when you get down. Make yourself get involved in something that helps others. You wouldnt believe how good that makes you feel. Watch only happy shows, movies, etc. Listen to happy music. Sing about happy things. Exercise and a proper diet are very important. God Bless Kristine and keep in touch. I hope you get better soon. hugs diana
